Southwestern Christian University
SCU is a private Theological University located in The Rio Grande Valley of Texas. The university is designed to offer students high-quality oriented education through its diverse certifications, undergraduate and graduate programs. The degree programs offer significant preparation for bi-vocational Christian ministry.
SCU is a unique university in that it delivers its programs through the Rio Grande Valley extension building, on-line or through correspondence.
Our curriculum is carefully developed by church leaders and prominent theologians who tell us what skills are needed in the church. This means that our students'educational experiences are relevant, practical, and hands-on. In fact, the coursework often mimics what is found in ministries around the world since many of SCU faculty members are also successful ministers working outside of the classroom.

Accreditation
Southwestern Christian University is under review to become fully accredited by the International University Accrediting Association, P.O. Box 94098 Pasadena, CA 91109-094098 to offer certifications, degrees at the Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral levels. Southwestern Christian University is also a member of the International Foundation for Protection Officers. |
Admission Requirements
There are no educational prerequisites for our certification programs. Our Bachelor programs, however, require that students have a High School diploma. Our Master program requires a Bachelor degree from an accredited university. Furthermore, our Doctoral program requires a Master degree from an accredited university. Please write to our Admissions department for details.
